Nvidia Joins India Deep Tech Alliance to Bolster Emerging Startups

American chip giant Nvidia has joined the India Deep Tech Alliance (IDTA) as a strategic advisor and founding member. The move aims to bolster India’s emerging deep-tech startups in fields like AI and semiconductors by providing technical guidance and mentorship, backed by the alliance’s $2 billion investor commitment.

NEW DELHI – American technology giant Nvidia has joined the India Deep Tech Alliance (IDTA) as a strategic advisor and founding member, aiming to foster the growth of India’s deep-tech startup ecosystem. The alliance, which supports ventures in fields like artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and robotics, has garnered a total of $2 billion in commitments from investors.

The announcement was made on November 5, 2025. In its role, Nvidia will provide crucial technical guidance, mentorship, and policy input. While the company is not making a direct financial investment, it will offer its extensive expertise to help startups leverage advanced AI and computing technologies. This support will include technical training through the Nvidia Deep Learning Institute.

“Nvidia’s depth of expertise in AI systems, software, and ecosystem-building will benefit our network of investors and entrepreneurs,” said Sriram Viswanathan, a Founding Executive Council Member of the IDTA. He emphasized the value of the partnership in addressing the “chronic underfunding” faced by research-intensive startups in the country.

The IDTA was established to bridge the funding gap for deep-tech companies, which often require significant, long-term investment. The alliance has attracted new investors such as Qualcomm Ventures, Activate AI, InfoEdge Ventures, Chirate Ventures, and Kalaari Capital.

According to Vishal Dhupar, Nvidia’s Managing Director for South Asia, the company will “provide guidance on AI systems, developer enablement, and responsible deployment.” This collaboration is expected to provide a significant boost to India’s deep-tech sector and encourage further innovation.
